From its appearance, the tapir looks like the result of an experiment by a mad genetics scientist gone astray while crossing a pig with an anteater. However the beast actually belongs to the same family as the rhino and horse and traces its origins back millions of years. This gentle fellow wandered into camp and proceeded to eat everything it could get its snout into, raw plantains (large bananas) being a favorite.
