I'm dying. I have a terminal illness. It is slowly killing me, undetectably taking away my life. I have perhaps another 60 years, maybe less. It could take me at any time, in any place. Today, tomorrow, next week, 40 years from now. The disease is called Mortality. Research has shown that this ailment affects a large population of the earth today. In fact, studies have shown that one out of every one person on the face of the planet contract Mortality at some point during their lives. However, though these numbers are staggering few get diagnosed early enough to do anything about it. With an early diagnosis, you can learn to deal with the disease openly. You can enjoy the time you have, make the most of every moment. See the sparkle in a child's eye. Enjoy a sublime walk in the park. Spend quality time with friends and family. Discover what is really important in life and how to let go of all that is petty. Living with Mortality can open your eyes. Living in fear of it or ingnorance of its place just around the corner can lead to warped values and sense of loss. We are all dying, our time here is limited. What are we going to do with it? © Chris Moeller, 1998
